Yesterday the KDE project launched their own version of Ubuntu Brainstorm, creatively called KDE Brainstorm. This new section of the forums allows users to vote and comment on ideas, just as Ubuntu Brainstorm does.

Today a new feedback site is launched at brainstorm.ubuntu.com that will make it easier for users of Ubuntu to suggests ideas for improvements. Voting makes it clear which ideas have the most support in the user community and should be given priority. We have of course been inspired by the IdeaStorm site from our good friends at Dell but modified the concept to fit our needs.

London July 21, 2009: Canonical, the founder of the Ubuntu project, announced today that it has open-sourced the code that runs Launchpad, the software development and collaboration platform used by tens of thousands of developers.

Launchpad is used to build Ubuntu and thousands of other projects, and its users can now participate directly in the development of Launchpad itself.

While wandering the Ubuntu site (www.ubuntu.com) to take a look at the new Hardy Heron / 8.04 LTS version, I went all philosophical and tried to think of any lessons that the Puppy Community could learn from that of Ubuntu. Now please note this is not a dig at the Puppy Community, we are one of the best out there, I'm just taking a step back and pondering to myself.
