Most of my nightmares tend to be mundane nonsense about being late for school. Folks in the open source community have nightmares about open source products becoming closed source properties. That's nightmarish, to be sure, but I have to ask how much of the nightmare is not wholly real.

Why should you care?
I thought the point of open source was to use the power of the community to create better computer programs than "closed source" programs; that open source programs were neither more or less ethical that closed source programs. So why should it matter if someone "closes" the source of the program? If it works better, isn't it better?
This "nightmare" doesn't affect those of us that subscribe to the ideals of free software, as we will always reject the acceptance of non-free programs. We will continue in sharing and improving free programs to fit our needs just as we have done before.
