Recently, an early draft of a semi-unofficial art roadmap for the much-discussed GNOME 3.0 was proposed. Though nothing here is ground-breaking, it is the kind of thing we need. Here are a few of the interesting points from the roadmap:

The Mozilla Project has updated its roadmap for the coming versions of Firefox. The next big release, Firefox 4.0 with Geko1.9.4 underneath, is scheduled for the end of 2010.

What was Richard Stallman's greatest achievement? Some might say it's Emacs. Others might plump for gcc. And then there is the entire GNU project. But for me, his single most important hack was the creation of the GNU General Public Licence.

According to the roadmap for the open source browser, the Mozilla developers plan to launch the next major Firefox release in October or November 2010. Around the same time, Mozilla plans to release version 2 of its Fennec smartphone browser.

Some days ago I looked at the Kopete roadmap and saw that it was updated recently. It now states that full Decibel support won’t be there before KDE 4.2, but that Telepathy will be supported as a plugin in KDE 4.1

Mozilla recently updated its product roadmap through 2010. According to the first draft, the current browser will see a minor update in Q4 2009 as well as Q2 2010. Version 4.0 is headed for an October or November 2010 release.
