Ubuntu has gained new splash screen software called xsplash, and is introduced in ubuntu 9.10 karmic Koala. Here a simple nice script for changing your xsplash screen with respect to your desktop wallpaper. Every time you change the desktop wallpaper, it will automaticaly change the xsplash screen.

What's new in Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha 6? Well... first of all, there is no more Usplash (the boot splash screen). So it appears the the team has successfully managed to fulfill their initial plans for making a faster startup where a boot screen is no longer necessary.

The Ubuntu development team has decided to change the plans and not include Plymouth technology for Ubuntu 9.10, which means they will keep the current USplash system....
