"Mint"-ing is not good
Reading this, I was always remembering about Ubuntu-based distribution - Mint. It is Ubuntu with preinstalled propriatery codecs, drivers, such closed software as Adobe Flash. Here, in this article, at the very beginning goes describing of those "bad" codecs installation with Flash, deep integration with Microsoft Windows OS and it's networks. It kills one of the main target of Ubuntu distribution - providing freedom for users by using (less or more) free software only.
I would not recommend such installation of Ubuntu. Instead, it is better to use something like Mint - with everything propriatery preinstalled.
