Wonderful, I left Windows because of .Net and now Miguel & Novell plan to bring it to Linux!
I'll be extra careful when checking that I have no piece of Mono on my PC.

Technology A, developed by Organisation B, is an implementation of Model C which is a product of Organisation D. Therefore, Technology A is a product of Organisation D. Are you seriously proposing this logic to me? This is faulty logic, the fallacy being non-sequitur logic.
Following this logic, is GNU dotNet a Microsoft product? Is GNU Classpath a product of Sun Microsystems? Is Mozilla's Firefox web browser mean that it is a product of Tim Berners-Lee? Are AMD's CPUs the product of the Intel corporation?

Novell Expands .NET Ecosystem with Mono. There are really better alternatives (and be less risky).

It's rather a combination of several logics here. I do not support GNU dotNet for one them, but don't use gnash for another (1)

Miguel and Desktops
As for remaking the desktop using Mono whether you like what they've done or not KDE has made the point moot by doing it all in C++ and a few scripting languages with a desktop that's both rethought and fast.
MONO and .NET can make many claims by speed isn't the first one that comes to mind. In fact it's almost the last.
Oh well, it's apparent that Miguel just loves Ballmer as a slow dance partner.
