"For those who wish to know the gory details, here is a quick way to get them. These eight points are part of a petition circulated by the organization OOXML..."

India on Thursday gave Microsoft a thumbs-down in the war of standards for office documents. In a tense meeting at Delhi’s Manak Bhawan, the 21-member technical committee decided that India will vote a ‘no’ against Microsoft’s Open Office Extensible Mark Up Language (OOXML) standard at the ISO.

Microsoft's Open Source Trashware
I recently took a look at Microsoft's most active open-source projects and—there's no polite way to say this—they are all junk.

The OSI, Microsoft, and history
It's almost funny (almost) to see how out-of-context my words can be taken. On one side, I can have Microsoft calling me to ask me to not criticize the company as I so often do (here and here and here and here and here and here and here and....you get the point).

Microsoft Looks for the Big Guns in OOXML In-Fighting
Bill Gates has reportedly been making phone calls to the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Commerce to push the American National Standards Institute to ignore the votes of its advisory committees and vote "yes" on ISO standardizing Microsoft's Open Office XML (OOXML) format, the one in competition with the OpenDocument Format (ODF) pushed by IBM and Sun.

Microsoft Sales Tactics Breed Mistrust
A conversation between two IT management types displayed a definite mistrust of Microsoft's sales reps during a re-licensing negotiation. Yet we're supposed to trust a cmpany with a long history of dishonest behavior and a hostile attitude toward the FOSS community with the OSI stamp of approval?

Fewer flaws FUD wars as Microsoft paints misleading picture of Linux security
Microsoft security 'vulnerability scorecard' gives false impression of OS security, suggesting Windows is the most secure of all. Of course, start to look behind the pretty graphs and the ugly truth emerges that this is just more Microsoft FUD to try and derail the free software machine.

Microsoft capitulates to the OSI, gets horse-whipped for its troubles
I really, really don't understand this. I understand that Microsoft has a history of aggression against open source, as Chris DiBona wrote recently on the Open Source Initiative's (OSI) license-discuss e-mail list. I compete with Microsoft and have for many years. I get that Microsoft has been bad.
