I’d like to say that I see Gentoo as a distribution that should allow me to easily use my computer whilst keeping configuration as flexible as possible. Of course with customisation we often get a tradeoff in usability, but nevertheless there are a couple areas where this tradeoff shouldn’t occur...

I haven't really touched my Gentoo desktop in over a year. I I wanted to stay with Gentoo, I'd have a day or two of compiling a head of me, and then who knows what integration head aches as programs and config files change.

Cuba launches Gentoo Linux distro

Time to move to Funtoo Linux

I have been planning to move to Funtoo Linux, a derivative of Gentoo Linux, for over a month now. The install is basically the same as a Gentoo installation. The only difference is that instead of using Gentoo’s Portage, you can choose to just use Daniel Robbin’s Funtoo git-based Portage located at Github.
