It's no secret that Asus has some big expectations for its low-cost Eee PC, but it looks like the company is now getting a bit more specific on the matter, with it saying it expects to ship some 3.8 million of the laptops in the next fiscal year.

Laptops and Desktops running Linux continue to sell out
When I decided to buy an Asus Eee I had a hard time finding one. Amazon was sold out. Buy.com was sold out. Many of the smaller websites I found were also sold out, and claimed they would be in stock again on some future date.

Simpler PCs for kids find niche (Eee PC)
Kellen Hage typically uses a three-year-old Averatec Inc. laptop to browse the Web and send instant messages. But the laptop's Microsoft Corp. Windows software has too many hard-to-find features, making it cumbersome for Kellen.
After all, he's just 6 years old.
So his mother, Ellen Hage, was thrilled recently when she found a laptop specifically targeted at kids Kellen's age.
