Every six months without fail, a new release of Ubuntu arrives, carrying a number of new features. At the moment, this is great. Ubuntu improves at an extremely impressive speed and, each time, the release is a little better.

"The Free Software Foundation (FSF) announced the winners of the annual free software awards during the GNU/Linux conference LibrePlanet, held on March 21-22 at Harvard Science Center in Cambridge, MA. Creative Commons was honored with the Award for Projects of Social Benefit, and Wietse Venema was honored with the Award for the Advancement of Free Software.

LibrePlanet 2009 Conference Begins in Cambridge
This is the first year that the Free Software Foundation’s Board Meeting and Associate Member meeting has been significantly opened and now anyone from the public can attend and participate. The conference is called LibrePlanet 2009 and is now getting underway on March 21 and March 22.
