E17 vs KDE 4.3.1
Recently, I have started using KDE 4.3.1 after it came in Gentoo stable tree. I have been using E17 svn versions for quite some time now. I found that with E17 the cpu is relatively cooler. Of course, my benchmarking is not precise yet it shall provide you an overall view. My system is Thinkpad R60.

An office suite for people :)
Recently I came across a very curious application and it fascinated me so that I decided to share my experience with you guys. The application is in a nutshell an OpenOffice derivative, created by a Chinese company responsible for RedFlag Linux distro. Install the latest version of Miro in Ubuntu the easy way
Miro previously called Democracy player is a cross platform internet television application developed by Participatory Culture Foundation. The latest release is Miro 2.5.3 and it comes packed with a lot of goodies. It's alternatives include Boxee and also XBMC which do really perform as good as Miro.
