One of Ubuntu's strategies for gaining a larger user base is providing quality, comprehensive training for everyone who desires. For that purpose, Canonical has recently included Fast Lane and Bridge Education in its Ubuntu Training Partner Programme, signing and training instructors. The courses are held all across the United States of America.

For the first time this week I finally had the pleasure of taking Damn Small Linux (hereafter, DSL) for a test drive. One of the companies that I work for required an easy, lightweight and quick solution to salvage an older project.

Blender is the only free 3d application compared against the heavyweight industry favorites like 3d max (which costs around $5000+) and the only second application to support all three major operating system.

Like many I had been looking for a way to get my office computer off of Windows for some time. I had played around with various Linux distros and even Mac for about 5 years, but I always had some excuse as to why I couldn’t just make the switch.

A popular topic for bloggers and technology journalists (I would even argue that some major newspapers have participated) are "my first experiences with Linux" posts. In other words, the author sits down and installs and tries to use Linux writing whatever they think as they go along.

Many, many of us, I am sure, use Linux on our desktops but what about using it as a way to recover from computer issues. Distributions such as the Ultimate Boot CD, or even just normal distributions, are incredibly useful when you have a problem that prevents your computer from booting.
