Diamond Linux

http://www.computerbob.com

Call it a brilliant idea. Call it a crazy whim. Call it a stupid waste of time and money. 9 Characteristics of Free Software Users

http://itmanagement.earthweb.com

"Operating systems come with cultures as much as codebases. I was forcibly reminded of this fact over the holidays when several family members and neighbors press-ganged me into troubleshooting their Windows computers. Although none of us had any formal computer training, and I know almost nothing about Windows, I was able to solve problems that baffled the others -- not because of any technical brilliance, but because the free software culture in which I spend my days made me better able to cope..."

Interview with OLPC's Founding CTO Mary Lou Jepsen, by Sean Daly

http://www.groklaw.net

Mary Lou Jepsen will go down in history as the founding Chief Technology Officer of One Laptop Per Child. She has recently announced that she is starting her own for-profit company, Pixel Qi, to commercialize some of the technologies she invented at OLPC while extending them. http://www.groklaw.net

The hearing on Novell's objection to the leases was today, and Groklaw had two observers there. The outcome was that SCO's leases were approved. Novell no longer objected to the Utah lease, because now they see the terms, and probably also because that's the one that is for only one year.
