Install GNOME/XFCE/KDE3 Desktop environment from KDE4 or vice versa
If you have installed openSUSE with the default selections of choosing one of the available (say KDE4) then only the selected Desktop environment is installed. However, should you later choose to install and use another desktop Environment say (GNOME) then this can easily be installed and as always just a few clicks away.

GNOME Layout
I’m a relatively new GNOME user, but as a long-time KDE and Windows user, and a single panel at the bottom, with some sort of menu on the left hand corner just “makes sense” to me. I’ve often wondered why more of the popular Linux distro’s don’t adopt what most new user’s to Linux would feel as “normal” as a default layout.
