If you don't know, NDISWrapper is a tool that is supposed to allow you to use Windows drivers for wireless cards. The problem is, it does not always work perfectly with every wireless card and it is very difficult for a new user to set up.

How to Set a Static IP address in Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex)
There seems to be a known bug with the Gnome Network Manager included with the Ubuntu 8.10 release that resets any static ip address settings that are set manually when the system is rebooted reverting back to a DHCP setup. Silverlight for Linux : Moonlight 1.0 almost complete
The beta version of Moonlight 1.0 is now available to download as a Firefox plug-in. The application, is the Linux version of Microsoft's rival to Flash, Silverlight. It makes it possible to play files such as WMV files under Linux. Novell has been granted access to Microsoft specifications and to multimedia codecs and test tools for the project.

Nokia alludes to Linux phone plans
Nokia may move to Linux for some of its higher end smartphones, a senior official was quoted as saying in a Reuters article. Nokia VP Ukko Lappalainen was quoted as saying, "In the longer perspective, Linux will become a serious alternative for our high-end phones."

Motorola formally announced its MotoRokr EM35, a slider version of the EM30 music phone that runs MontaVista Linux. The phone offers Bluetooth, USB, a 3-megapixel camera, and a haptic scroll interface, as well as music playback that is said to include virtual surround effects.
