Fedora 19 – Schrödinger’s Cat – preview

http://www.linuxbsdos.com

The GNOME 3 edition features the latest release of the GNOME 3, which is GNOME 3.8. While the default GNOME Shell is still the same that I’m not a very big fan of, there are some useful and very user-friendly features that factor nicely into my desktop computing needs. The calendar is not one of those features I like, but the clock, me likes!

Linux Mint 15 “Olivia” Released!

http://tuxtweaks.com

Many people have been wondering what the official release date for Linux Mint 15 will be. The Mint team is known for not providing a firm release calendar. It's been about a week and a half since the Release Candidate for Linux Mint 15 "Olivia" was released and I've noticed that a few people have posted on Google+ that Linux Mint 15 has been released.

Linpus Lite 1.9 review

http://www.linuxbsdos.com

Linpus Lite is one of those distributions that I’ve always hoped will be done right, considering that it is published by a commercial entity. However, with every release, it manages to fail in taking care of the little things that matter. Almost every desktop distribution suffers from the same problem.

Howto: Managing dotfiles with dfm

http://liquidat.wordpress.com

Distro Review: Xubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail

http://tuxtweaks.com

Xubuntu is a derivative of Ubuntu Linux that uses the Xfce desktop environment for the user interface. It is one of the official derivatives of Ubuntu Linux. The intent is for Xubuntu to be easy to use while being attractive and light on system resources. For this review I tested the 32 bit Live environment as well as the 32 bit version installed to the hard drive of my MSI Wind netbook.

Hybryde Fusion: A very unique Linux distribution

http://www.linuxbsdos.com

From the release number, you can probably guess that it is based on Ubuntu Desktop 13.04. But what you cannot guess from the name or release number is that it ships with its own desktop environment called HY-D-V1. It also makes it super easy to test-drive other desktop environments from the same installation, without ever rebooting the computer or logging out of the current desktop.

Antergos Linux 2013.05.12 review

What I typically look for in desktop distributions are a good graphical installation, a sane and sensible default desktop configuration that just work, and all the graphical tools that will make managing the desktop easy for all users, especially those not familiar or not willing to use the command-line.

Does this first release of Antergos meet those criteria? Read on to find out.
