My New OS - Mandriva Linux
I switched to Mandriva Linux this past week. Having tried and tested the Live CD, and verifying that everything was fine, I decided to install it on the HD.The boot was quiet, and the installation took around 15 minutes. Goodbye PCLinuxOS!! Hello gOS!!
This happened on Friday, where my very loyal PCLinuxOS system had finally shown its age. Constant desktop freezes/crashes and the signs of slowing down prompted me to go distro-hopping again, searching for a new distro which can work flawlessly on my laptop...just like Morpheus going looking for Neo all over again :-p

Adventures with Ubuntu and XP and the family computer
So my folks Windows XP box started having difficulty booting. Most of the time it would go to boot and suddenly you'd be back at the BIOS, then the "Windows didn't shutdown properly last time" menu and then once you selected "boot normally" the cycle would begin again.
