He’s obviously having a bit of trouble (in the way only Larry David can have trouble). He’s getting frustrated at something. He’s growing verklempt over an issue with his laptop. He’s picking it up and shaking it saying “No, no, no, no, no!”

As WorksWithU reported last week, the Gnome application Empathy was set to become the default instant-messaging client in Ubuntu 9.10 upon its release October, replacing Pidgin.  But Ubuntu developers have been reconsidering that decision in the last few days.  Here's the story, with some thoughts.

A very important factor in the determinant of the success of an OS is its acceptance and adoption by the enterprise world. Ubuntu Linux, over the past several years has made great strides in winning over a lot of home users. The story is different though when it comes to the enterprise world.
