Obviously, this is the fault of third-parties who do not upgrade. I don't know if 100% backwards compatibility with XP isn said to be a feature of Vista by Microsoft, but I personally find it quite hypocritical from the supporters of the stable-kernel-api-nonsense thing to wank over the incompatibilities of Vista.
