Based on the various perspectives studied in this report, we believe that the recent consolidation activities and consequent price war in the Linux market are surely expected to boost the market. We expect other IT majors, such as Sun Microsystems, to eventually enter this market with more advanced technology. We believe that Linux is poised for greater growth in high-growth countries, such as China, India, and Brazil, where enterprises have not already invested significantly in implementing Windows. However, Linux awareness and know-how remain much lower compared to Windows. This is one factor that has significantly affected the adoption of Linux and which is expected to change with more established IT players entering this domain.
