First thing I delete!
F-Spot is one of the first things I delete after every fresh Ubuntu install; the others being Do and Tomboy. Seeing there are better Free Software alternatives to this proprietary encumbered rubbish it's a pity to see Ubuntu including such Mono-infested applications in the default install.

I really fail to see anything special about it.
I mean really.
I've tried it for some time, before I knew it's just another mono encumbered venomware, and I haven't found anything that can be seen as extraordinary or special.
Just a simple image viewer containing very basic features.
And if I were to choose something really decent that works in exactly the same way, I would go with Gwenview. An elegant, yet totally Free(as in Freedom) image viewer that looks and feels way much more appealing than F-Spot.

Shotwell's pretty nice.
Although it's still being put through its paces, Shotwell is a very nice alternative to F-Spot. Needs a bit more work, but it's pretty stable.
