Torvalds?
Although I'm not a Linus fan, I do think the article had a slight bias to exlude him. Anyone else got the same impression?

He was included
FTA: "Linus Torvards.. He wrote Linux, the kernel, without which the GNU utilities wound’t have anything to run on. Linus’ kernel was timely, and was released under the GPL (written by Richard Stallman) in 1991. Linux is a very important part of the GNU/Linux project."
There is a typo in his name... maybe that's why you missed it. :)

Dave, didn't miss him but
Dave, didn't miss him but compare his entry to the rest of the people or check in the bottom where the people are summarized again. It seemed to me that he was put in the list out of grudging necessity

I don't think Linus has suffered a lack of favorable press.
Linus Torvalds has been on the cover of many business magazines over the years.
Free Software Magazine is not one of those business magazines and it happens to be on the topic of software freedom, not just business.
Unfortunately, Linus Torvalds does not make computer users' freedom his top priority.
To me, it's questionable even to include him on that list of "Free Software Heroes".
However, if there were a list of "Open Source Idols", Linus Torvalds would be on top of it.
