The oral transmission (or spoken teachings) in Tibetan Buddhism links the listener to the speaker who, in turn, had heard it from another speaker and thus establish a succession of listeners going back to the original speaker : the Buddha. The Buddha is one who is liberated (from the obstructions of common life), enlightened (to help all other being to attain Buddhahood) and awakened (to the supreme bliss).
