Now that I've pretty much got my Xfce 4.4 desktop where I want it in OpenBSD, I've been spending more and more time not in Xfce but in the Fvwm2 window manager that's the default for this OS.

Stefan Rinkes, a big fan of OpenBSD, had decided to make an effort and create something that is now common in the Linux world, but which had not been done in OpenBSD - an OpenBSD-based live DVD with automatic hardware detection which would boot into a popular graphical desktop and which would also have a point-and-click graphical system installer. Continuing its quirky habit of releasing a song for each new release the OpenBSD team has released the official 4.2 song. OpenBSD leader Theo de Raadt describes it as "mid-era Rush song".

Yesterday the OpenBSD Foundation debuted as a Canadian nonprofit organization intended to serve as "a single point of contact for persons and organizations requiring a legal entity to deal with when they wish to support OpenBSD in any way."
