Thanks to Colin and Evan’s efforts we now have daily images of a freedom-focused flavour of Ubuntu, “Gobuntu”. This is a call for developers who are interested in pushing the limits of content and code freedom - including firmware, content, and authoring infrastructure, to join the team and help identify places where we must separate out pieces that don’t belong in Gobuntu from the standard Ubuntu builds.

Although it duplicates the purpose of gnewsense, maybe having the magic Ubuntu name will be enough to make this one wildly successful. I know I'd like to have Gnash installed by default if it can replace flash for youtube.

Ubuntu is good at marketing, but
Ubuntu is good at marketing, but I don't think they'll publicize this heavily. Mark actually says it's primarily meant to make an easier base for gNewSense and similar distros.
