Say Goodbye to SCO

http://boycottnovell.com

Novel's appellate brief filed: asks court of appeals to affirm lower court

http://www.groklaw.net

Novell has filed its brief in the appeal of SCO v. Novell. It's 87 pages, so I haven't read it yet myself. I'll swing back by after I read it. But the quick look at the index and the closing words indicates Novell is asking the court to affirm the lower court: "For all the above reasons, the district court judgment should be affirmed."

Questions About the Linux Kernel Personality (LKP) and the GPL

http://www.groklaw.net

I've been thinking about something. And I can't figure out the answer. Remember when SCO's Erik Hughes was deposed [PDF; text] in the SCO v. IBM litigation, he said that at first the LKP did have kernel code in it, but later it was taken out? So then why, when SCO announced it was stopping distribution of Linux in May of 2003, would it have needed to stop distributing the LKP also?

SCO Objects to $50,586.14 of Novell's Bill of Costs

http://www.groklaw.net

There are some filings in the SCO v. Novell litigation. SCO is objecting to some of Novell's Bill of Costs, and in the second filing, the court tried to mail something to Jonathan Lee Riches, but the post office evidently couldn't find him. In prison. "Mail returned as undeliverable... unable to forward." Uh oh.

Novell is the new SCO and Miguel de Icaza is the new Darl McBride.

http://www.fsdaily.com

Here's the latest from Roy Schestowitz of BoycottNovell.com:

Novell’s de Icaza: The Man Who Gives GNU/Linux to Microsoft

I've been following this story for a while now. I'm not the first to compare Novell to SCO. It seems fair to compare them without being hyperbolic.
