An update on the long term plans for Ubuntu release management. 8.04 LTS represented a very significant step forward in our release management thinking. To the best of my knowledge there has never been an “enterprise platform” release delivered exactly on schedule, to the day, in any proprietary or Linux OS.

A British Columbia-based startup called InkMedia announced an under-$300 notebook that runs embedded Linux. Based on a Via chip, the Ink Mobile Computer (Ink MC) depends on flash-based storage and offers an 8.6-inch SVGA display, four USB slots, Ethernet, and WiFi.

SuperTuxKart version 0.4 released
The official 0.4 version of SuperTuxKart has just been released. Most important improvement is the usage of the bullet physics engine, which is now responsible for all collision handling. Additionally, the AI has been improved, you can look back now, a new kart (wilber) was added, some tracks were significantly improved, and new music was included.
