FSF Announces JavaScript License Web Label

http://www.fsf.org

If you browse the Web today, your browser will probably download and run nonfree JavaScript software on your behalf. You should be able to say no to that software—but to date, that hasn't been practical. JavaScript License Web Labels are our newest effort to make this easier.

TLWIR BREAKING NEWS: GNU/Linux Petition Featured on WhiteHouse.gov!

http://beginlinux.com

On January 30th, 2012, I started a petition requesting that the U.S. government broaden their use of Free Software and Open Source software to save money. I deeply believe that this one step is PART of the solution to the problem of the crushing national debt that the United States is currently facing. TLWIR 31: Using GNU/Linux and Free Software to Bring Back American Innovation

http://beginlinux.com

FSFE's Education Team 2011 Summary

http://blogs.fsfe.org

When I talk to people as a member of FSFE’s education team, there’s always the question what we are actually doing. It is not so easy to come up with something specific. I know we’ve been busy all the time, but ad hoc, it’s difficult for me to name examples, that are worth mentioning. A lot of work that’s being done just doesn’t provide a presentable outcome (more on that below).

American Corporate Software Can No Longer Be Trusted For Anything

http://falkvinge.net

The discussions around SOPA have shown a very unfortunate side of United States policymaking — that its policymakers are not the slightest afraid of legislatively ordering American-run corporations to sabotage their customers in order to further United States foreign policy.

Stallman: Facebook IS Mass Surveillance

https://rt.com

RMS: « The father of free software philosophy spoke to RT on evil developers, spying social networks, the almost-legitimacy of Anonymous hacks and the condition under which he would take a proprietary program and a million dollars. Stallman is the man behind the concept that every computer program must be free for users to study and modify as they want.
