Linux vendors standardize on LSB 4.0 as 4.1 enters Beta
n July of 2008, the Linux Foundation started the process for standardizing Linux with the Linux Standards Base 4.0 spec.This week, after a couple years of official availability the Linux Foundation is set to formally announce that all of the leading commercial Linux vendors have now certified to LSB 4.0.

The Move To Linux - Encrypted Disk Issues
The other decision I made was to remove the disk from the machine and put it in a cage and put the second disk in a cage as well. I then booted the diskless machine with a LiveCD (I used Fedora 14 desktop) and connected the disks.

DragonFlyBSD 2.8 released
The 2.8 release will again feature GUI USB stick images along with the standard ISO (std CD) and USB IMG (1G) files for both i386 and x86-64. The GUI USB stick image requires a 4G USB stick and features a basic, working X environment with firefox, fully broken out source and pkgsrc trees including the .git repo, and a larger set of pre-installed packages.
