My New OS - Mandriva Linux

http://sufyanism.blogspot.com

I switched to Mandriva Linux this past week. Having tried and tested the Live CD, and verifying that everything was fine, I decided to install it on the HD.The boot was quiet, and the installation took around 15 minutes. Haunted by the choice of environments, I chose KDE over GNOME, simply because it was listed first.

Linux Game Review: Nexuiz Linux Game Review: Nexuiz

http://www.raiden.net

Nexuiz is a 3d first person shooter (FPS) done in the old Quake 1 style of gameplay where graphics weren't as important as was the raw fun of pure deathmatch play. That form of gameplay has been lost in many ways in the newer games of today with their greater concentration on graphics and less on gameplay.

Adventures with Ubuntu and XP and the family computer

http://www.mindstab.net

So my folks Windows XP box started having difficulty booting. Usually eventually you'd get lucky and Windows would boot (but sometimes they gave up first). Not good...

http://freewebsoftwarereviews.blogspot.com

In my last post, I showed how the vulnerability counts for Ubuntu Dapper LTS were lower than Windows Vista. However, I also mentioned that this should be used only to counter Microsoft FUD, and not as a measure of security. What, then, shows that Linux is actually more secure than Windows.
