OLPC Has Already Planted the Seed
They've already succeeded in raising awareness, and this is growing.
They've already pushed Intel into action, which, despite their hypcorisy, is still more charitable then they would have been if the cold-hearted giant hadn't been trying to crush a charitable project.
They've already initiated a vital debate about providing a platform for creativity--Linux--versus a platform that turns people into cattle--Windows.
So, the ultimate goal of OLPC may be a ways off, but OLPC IS already past the point where it could be called a failure.
