The Swathanthra Malayalam Computing(SMC) has come up with a list of Malayalam unicode fonts which are available under GPL. The web page also has a preview and a link to download the font.

PHP V5.3 is set to be released by the end of 2008, and many of the new features in this release have been in the planning stages for a few years. Originally touted as "PHP V6 without native Unicode support," PHP V5.3 has been developed into a feature-rich upgrade to the PHP V5 line.

Gnu FreeFont project produces a useful set of free outline (i.e.OpenType) fonts covering as much as possible of the Unicode character set. The set consists of three typefaces: one monospaced and two proportional (one with uniform and one with modulated stroke).
