Free Software Isn't Open Source

Microsoft embracing the open source community does not affect the free software community at all. MS's goal is encourage users to give up their freedom in exchange for using their convienent proprietary programs. Encouraging users to give up their freedom is anti-ethical to the free software ethos and so, we of the free software movement have no use for this news.

As for open source, I fail to see why MS embracing open source is a bad thing. Remember that open source is amoral about freedom and cares more about creating better programs. So if Microsoft works together with the various open source communities so that they can develop better softaware, isn't that a good thing? Isn't it better to use the right tool for the job? Is it surprising that Microsoft would believe that Microsoft's tools are the right ones and that they want to encourage others to feel the same way? With all this in context, I fail to see why these actions by MS are intended to be deceptive.
