The Bhutan government liked its first taste of Linux so much that it has come back for seconds, releasing an updated version of its Debian-based operating system that it launched last year.

Bhutan has come up with an operating system called the "Dzongkha Debain Linux," an updated version of the Dzongka Linux developed in June 2006. The Dzongkha Debain Linux, which was launched on Aug. 28, according to DIT officials, can be installed in any type of computers or can be used with a live CD.

Noobs getting their first taste of the Linux OS tend to feel a little lost. Even though the Gnome and KDE GUIs are simple and easy to navigate, it's hard to ignore the realization that you don't really know what lurks beneath the surface of this powerful operating system.

Mandriva Linux 2008 is a very capable desktop operating system ideal for beginners as well as Linux power users. Those minor glitches that I have encountered were overshadowed by its rich features and outstanding performance. But, I do hope that those problems will be fixed on their next release. I intend to keep my Mandriva 2008 partition on my back up computer because I’m beginning to love it. I will be tweaking it and further use it for productive purposes.

Many people in this world might have written a lot on linux. Now its my turn. And why not, it is really a wonderful operating system stable, secure and also free ;-). I got a taste of unix when i was in Aptech and when i was in NCST, Banglore i worked for one whole year on linux. I even did coding on vi editor. Not only me but most of my batchmates love linux.
