Personally, I never considered album art for my iPod all that important. That has changed now that we have an iPod touch in the family. If I'm missing a lot of album art, the experience of virtually flipping through my music collection, something Apple calls "cover flow," is diminished. iTunes doesn't always offer art for albums I didn't purchase from iTunes. Thankfully, a little GPL-licensed application called Album Cover Art Downloader (ACAD) solved my problem.

Exaile is a solid choice for Ubuntu users to manage their music collections. It incorporates automatic fetching of album art, lyrics, artist/album information via Wikipedia, Last.fm scrobbling.

So you are using the killer Amarok music application under Ubuntu, but when you try to "Burn this Album", the menu item is grayed out and otherwise disabled. The reason for this is because Amarok is a KDE application designed to work with K3b, the cd burning application for KDE, but it's not installed by default in Ubuntu. (For that matter, neither is Amarok)

The new Ubuntu font ("Ubuntu Font Family") has just been uploaded to the Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat official repositories and was made default for both Ubuntu desktop and netbook as well as Kubuntu. The Ubuntu Font Family has been released as a Libre font, licensed under the Ubuntu Font Licence 1.0.
