TurboLinux says it has added online storage capabilities to its combination PMP (portable media player) and personal Linux boot device. The "Wizpy" device will soon gain support for network-based file storage, thanks to a deal with third-party storage service provider Omnidrive.

The TurboLinux Wizpy, a multimedia media player that contains a PC-bootable version of the Linux operating system, will go on sale worldwide in June.

Though Linux in the mainstream has come a long way over the past few years, there is still this stigma of being difficult to install and use. The TurboLinux Wizpy is trying to sway consumer perception with the introduction of a pocket-sized multimedia player that contains a bootable version of TurboLinux operating system.

At it's most basic level, Wuala is an online storage service. Like other services it aims to allow you to access your files from anywhere, even if your home or office computer is turned off. You can store any file in your Wuala 'drive' and they can be any size (up to your storage limit, of course).

Turbolinux's Linux-based wizpy music player is a beautiful device. It's slick, black, and slightly smaller than the smallest cell phones. Unfortunately, its value and functionality doesn't live up to its good looks.

Canonical has just released a new "cloud" service for all users: Ubuntu One starts today as an invitation-based Beta. There are two storage options momentarily: a free 2GB account and a $10/month 10 GB one. If you are familiar with services like Dropbox, Ubuntu One apparently does the same job.

Addonics announced a low-cost, six-ounce network-attached storage (NAS) device for the SOHO market. The Linux-based Addonics Mini NAS offers a single 2.5-inch storage bay, an Ethernet port, a USB port, and multiple servers, including UPnP, and supports both SMB and open source Samba network protocols, says the company.

Like all cloud storage services, Wuala makes it easy for you to backup, sync, share and retrieve your data from any location.
