The next version of Fedora is to be called "Constantine". The result was announced at FUDCon Berlin 2009 and follows a tradition of creating linked pairs of codenames;

The Fedora Unity Project is proud to announce the first Re-Spin DVDs for the Fedora 12 (Constantine) Linux distribution.

As the developers have announced, the Fedora Project has made the first and only alpha version of Fedora 12, codename Constantine, available to download – as ever a little later than originally planned.

We have to wait some days to come out at last the final version of Fedora 12 Constantine and Redhat has already opened the particular name selection process for the next version (Fedora 13).

There has not been a new development release of Fedora 12 since the Constantine Alpha release back in August. However, the second and last development release, Fedora 12 Beta, is set to be released next week. It has been delayed a few times already, but Fedora 12 Beta packs all of the features that are to be found in Fedora 12 with the final development freeze already in effect.

The Fedora Project has announced the latest version of its popular open source Linux distribution. Nicknamed Constantine, Fedora 12 has quite a few impressive new features and demonstrates that the project has gained a renewed sense of direction.

The first Fedora 12 beta is now available and at first glance it sure looks to me like it's jammed pack full of interesting and innovative new features.

As with previous Fedora releases, we'll once again be highlighting some of the new and improved features in a series of blogs leading up to our latest release, Fedora 13, anticipated in mid-May. First up on our list is NetworkManager.

Fedora releases usually generate more yawns than a Ben Affleck movie for me but this time, they've gone the extra mile. I placed Fedora at number 7 in my 10 Best Linux Distributions post but now that I've seen Fedora 10, I may have to reorder the list and place Fedora at number 5 or 6.
