Now we're driving hard towards completing CrossOver 8.0. We've done a ton of work that is going into CrossOver 8; we've got Internet Explorer 7 running, and we're working on 8. We've got a huge number of fixes for Microsoft Office, notably Outlook. And most importantly, we've got Quicken 2009 working along nicely.

he Naev devteam is proud to announce the release of Naev 0.5.0! This release is the result of over a year of hard work done by nearly 30 committers. This release is just a step in the path for ultimate greatness and a major step forward in the maturity of Naev. It has many major gameplay changes and signifies the coming of age of Naev, which has now exceeded the tag of Escape Velocity clone.

The ReactOS team is proud to announce the release of ReactOS 0.3.11. This release has been delayed by quite some time due to various blocker bugs which manifested each time we tried to release. A lot of time has gone into hunting down these bugs and various steps have been taken to try to ensure we don't hit this problem again.

This is to announce tar 1.24, a new stable release of GNU tar (an archiving program designed to store and extract files from an archive file known as a tarfile). This release fixes several bugs found in the previous 1.23. Thanks to everyone who reported bugs and suggestions. Special thanks to Paul Eggert for his hard work on this release.

Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala is meant to be the most important Ubuntu release yet. Not because it brings in a new plethora or breakthrough technology innovations or saves the world hunger; but because it comes head to head with the flawless Snow Leopard and the much anticipated Windows 7.

Amarok Headquarters reports yet again another release of the marvelous Amarok 1.4 'Fast Forward' series. Just like its predecessor, Amarok 1.4.8 fixes a fairly large amount of bugs, and therefore increases stability of Amarok's stable branch of development. Among the major improvements is the resolution of an issue that could, under some circumstances, cause a complete lockup during dynamic playback. Last.fm metadata fetching now also works with xine 1.1.8 and we made sure you can now also use your brand new iPods with your favourite music player. And now the team can get back to work on Amarok 2, getting their hands dirty to bring Amarok 2 to you as soon as humanly possible! :)

When I first checked out Amarok 2.0 back when it made its debut, I didn’t think it could match up to Amarok 1.4.x in terms of usability or features. Now, I actually find myself preferring it to Amarok 1.4.x.

After two months of hard work the KDevelop team is happy to announce the first bug-fix release of the KDevelop 4.2 branch. KDevelop 4.2.2 fixes dozens of bugs. As usual this release also contains a new version of the PHP language plugin for KDevelop. New this time is another release of the build-dependency KDevelop-PG-Qt (the parser generator used in the PHP plugin).

Each release of Plasma over the 18 months since its debut release has marked an impressive step forward in its evolution. We are planning on making 4.4, our second anniversary release coming in January 2010.
