PCLinuxOS Magazine has reached an important milestone today with the release of our August 2007 issue (#12) which marks one year PCLinuxOS Magazine has been in print! Our previous issues can also be downloaded.

I originally intended this post to be a review of 2007 Final for PCLinuxOS. However, after finishing it up, I realized that posting a review wouldn’t have the desired effect of truly showing off PCLinuxOS to everyone. It would just be a “business as usual” type of post. So, I decided to do a analysis on what I feel sets PCLinuxOS apart from many Linux distributions.

PCLinuxOS 2007, also referred to as PCLOS, was released on May 21st, 2007 to rave reviews. Also, PCLOS has gained immense popularity having been the number two distribution over the last 6 months and number one since the release of the 2007 edition just over three weeks ago (according to the DistroWatch rankings). This tutorial shows how you can enable Beryl on a PCLinuxOS 2007 desktop (the system must have a 3D-capable graphics card). With Beryl you can make your desktop use beautiful 3D effects like wobbly windows or a desktop cube.

This is a nice review of PCLINUXOS 2007. I have been using this distro for several months and it works well for me.
