Still, sometimes you just need a simple way to practice your vocabulary to augment the audio course. Books, CDs, flashcards, classes -- there are a lot of tools to help you learn a foreign language. If you spend much of your time near a computer, software may be one of the better options. Ian McIntosh's Amigo is a friendly language utility for the Linux user, notable for how well it integrates into the desktop.

Here a quick heads up on Urdu language support on Emacs-snapshot-gtk (1:20080228-1ubuntu1) on Ubuntu Hardy Heron. Some Bible study programs are gratis, but not libre. Others cost $30, right on up to hundreds of dollars - and that's just for the base modules. Worse, most of these programs can only run on one or two operating systems.
