I’m a convert from Ubuntu, after several years with that distribution of Linux, and the difference between Ubuntu 8.10 and OpenSuse 11.1 is night and day.

To this fellow, I would recommend Apple or Windows.
To the guy from gogoboygo.com, I offer this rebuttal:
If driver compatibility is your thing, then go for the operating systems which have the money to either make their own hardware or to bribe the hardware manufacturers, ie Apple and Microsoft respectively.
GNU/Linux was never intended to be perverted in the way it has been perverted by Microsoft through their puppet, Novell, who taints the openSUSE distro with code which is meant to build a pretext for a patent lawsuit.
Go ahead and enjoy your tainted GNU/Linux, but don't be dissing Ubuntu because your criteria for selecting software has nothing to do with freedom. You might as well use proprietary software instead.
