A couple of days ago we discussed Novell’s Moonlight and explained why it assists Microsoft’s fight against Adobe, Google, GNU/Linux, Ajax and many other rivals (or rival technologies employed by those rivals).

Allowing free access to ActiveX Control content, can be a security risk. ActiveX can be used to deposit spyware, adware and other malware into users system, when they visit innocent looking websites. A google search for dangers of activex would be very informative.

Many users of GNU/Linux these days, think that projects like Gnash are stupid, when you can get the original Flashplayer. Those are the same people that think you’re stupid if you don’t want to use the mp3-format, or install support for the windows-media format. This isn’t true only on brainstorm of course, but also in the overall community.

I'm talking about Novell's November 2004 antitrust complaint against Microsoft, filed shortly after settling an different, OS-related, complaint with Microsoft for $536 million. You can view the second complaint, which I'll call the "WordPerfect" complaint, here [PDF] on GrokLaw.

They are still on-line, just in their own distraction free window. I thought it might be interesting to see if the functionality could be ported over to a portable USB thumb drive.

As I briefly mentioned in another post, I am seriously concerned with GNOME’s infatuation with Microsoft technologies.

I'm sure there was a story a couple of days ago about how half of MS's licenses didn't meet the 10 criteria of OS definition, but here's a different perspective.

ComputerWorld Denmark is reporting that a strong letter of protest has been sent to ISO from Open Source Leverandørforeningen in Denmark (OSL): President Morten Kjærsgaard from OSL have today lodged an official complaint to the ISO Vice President Jacob Holmblad, who also sits as managing director of Danish Standard.
