Yesterday I attended an inspirational talk from Richard Stallman that contained many familiar bits, a healthy dose of humour and an interesting questions session, which touched on the AGPL, GPLv3 and other currently-debated topics that are more about the present than about the past.

Some People are fine with Subjugation
For us that align with the FSF, the act of taking a free program and making it proprietary is a travesty. The act of recommending proprietary software is also not right as it recommends that the anti-social policies of software masters to be acceptable. Some people are fine with other people taking free software and making it proprietary. This is one explanation for a major division within the free software communities.
