Overwhelming desire?

Just what is this

"overwhelming desire for interoperability between open and proprietary systems"

that Jason Perlow claims exists between the users of GNU/Linux and M$?

M$ certainly feels such "overwhelming desire" because they want to see all Free Software running on top of their expensive proprietary OS. They also want to get get hold of the excellent Free Software that actually works.

In the Free Software world we feel no such "overwhelming desire for interoperability".

Our software is free and it works. Why on Earth would we need "interoperability" with a hideously expensive system that is constantly full of bugs and doesn't work properly?

Perlow admits he's in the schizophrenic position of trying to live in both worlds, just like Miguel de Icaza.

Miguel is exactly as Richard Stallman describes him, and so is Miguel's boss,Ronnie "I love Ballmer" Hovesepian.

Zdnet is a well-known apologist for M$ and Perlow is busy bad-mouthing Richard Stallman for their benefit
