Ari Jaaksi, the vice president of Nokia's MeeGo unit, is moving on to other things. His resignation is an unfortunate loss for Nokia, but it's especially troubling at this time when the Finnish phone giant is working to deliver its first MeeGo-based product.
Jaaksi was instrumental in making open source a part of Nokia's culture and played a key role in shaping the company's Linux strategy. He nurtured the Maemo platform to maturity and was responsible for transforming Nokia's experimental Internet Tablet project into the foundation for a viable flagship smartphone.
