The Fellowship of FSFE has launched a campaign to promote Free Software PDF readers to provide alternatives to the "Download Adobe Reader" buttons found on so many web sites. Weblog software (also known as blog software or blogware) enables users to maintain an ongoing chronicle of information on a website. Typically, a blog is a frequently updated, personal website, with diary-type commentary, descriptions of events, and sometimes includes graphics and video as well as links to articles on other sites. However, blogs can also be used for business purposes.

When users want the latest in free and open source software (FOSS), they are likely to think first of sites like freshmeat, or perhaps Softpedia or GnomeFiles. In retrospect, CONSEGI 2008 was a historical event. There were representatives from all over the Americas (including 2 from the US!) -- more Latin American national free software movements were born there as mature ones led. NXS has pulled together a number of links about CONSEGI 2008.
