It was an uneasy breakup. Kubuntu and I had parted about two months ago rather abruptly after I had installed 9.02. After a nearly four year love affair between us, I felt that I had been jaded. The new KDE 4.1 Plasma desktop was awkward and things just didn’t seem right.

Once again kubuntu-de.org interviewed a developer. This time we talked with Jonathan (JontheEchidna) Thomas. The Kubuntu developer and Ninja reported about the development cycle of Kubuntu "Jaunty Jackalope", which has been released today. Further he gave a little insight on "Karmic Koala", the future release of Kubuntu, which is announced for this year's october.

I am an early adopter of KDE 4 and I welcome the radical changes it has made from earlier versions. Kubuntu seemed to be the winning choice because I have seen early KDE 4.4 reviews state that Kubuntu was the easiest and less buggy path to 4.4. In this article, I will be reviewing both Kubuntu Lucid Lynx the new KDE SC 4.4.

Kubuntu 7.10 RC was announced as available several days ago. I installed it immediately, and I have to say, I’m very impressed!
