I’ve recently started messing about with it and I’ve gotten Counter Strike, Counter Strike Source and Half Life multiplayer to launch off of it. I’m still mucking about with server settings and finding statistics for it however I did not find a ton of documentation on this through Google so I decided to put up my notes here.
Many a day on the Ubuntu Forums I stumble upon posts like Program X doesnt work under ubuntu Im leaving. As it turns out some of these posts are for the Source games mainly the multiplayer ones Counter Strike Source Day of Defeat Source Half Life 2 Deathmatch Team Fortress 2. For that purpose Im gonna make a short guide just to show how I had luck getting the Source games to work.

I decided to switch my desktop back to Linux now that I know I can play Counter-Strike in VirtualBox thanks to the OpenGL 3D acceleration availible in VirtualBox 2.1.0. I *was* going to go back to the ‘ol reliable Ubuntu, but I decided since I have Nvidia graphics now, that I would try out Fedora 10 since the drivers are availible in RPMFusion’s repo.
