Second in the Linux server business to leader Red Hat, Novell is continuing to strive for major server wins. In its latest significant victory, Novell announced that Office Depot has elected to consolidate its server infrastructure on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 1.
Novell wants the US Supreme Court to review its seemingly-never-ending legal tete-a-tete with SCO over the famous UNIX and UNIXware copyrights. As noticed by Groklaw, Novell has filed a motion with a federal appeals court asking for a 90-day stay in the SCO case so it can file a writ of certori petition with the Supremes.
Novell has filed a Reply [PDF] to SCO's Opposition to Novell's Motion for Conversion. Novell does not mince words. It suggests that the court check SCO's math, not to mention SCO's 22 pages of its "history" of UNIX and its litigation prospects.
